Bio

Sara is a multidisciplinary artist. In the field of visual arts she began as a designer and painter. Later she also dedicated herself to the art of mosaic. In addition to this she is a semi-professional dancer of oriental dances.

She was born in Italy and earned a degree in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara. She began painting in oils at the age of 13 as self-taught and has always found her way of communication and freedom in art. "I feel supported by the possibility of being able to speak with an empty canvas. Knowing that I can paint or create something is my greatest resource." Subsequently, the artist continued to study painting with the master and artist from La Spezia Renzo Borella.

In 2013 she moved to London where she attended numerous life drawing classes, also working as a model. Here she exhibits in various galleries. The artist now lives between London and Italy.

Her pictorial creative process can be divided into 2 phases with opposite dynamics. The beginning of the painting is an instinctive and dynamic phase during which she creates an abstract background using various media (collage, acrylics, spray paint...). From here the artist proceeds with oil painting, delving into the figure in a subtle and detailed way.

These 2 opposite ways of proceeding are a symbol of the artist's complexity and the message she intends to convey. Duality is a particularly investigated theme, especially through the Sirens series. Duality which later flows into multiplicity with the series of matryoshka dolls.

The final result is the encounter between a vibrant abstract and realism that blend harmoniously into One.

The artist also explores themes of identity, transformation and social suffering, especially from the point of view of women in society. Her art invites users to rediscover the complexity, but also the beauty of our world, leading to a reflection on the suffering of human nature transformed into beauty.
